We experience storytelling most effectively through video, and we feel it’s an underutilized medium for family history preservation. Bookmark is a modern evolution of the age-old practice of capturing your family's story. In contrast to a written memoir, we create high-quality videos, which can be watched and rewatched forever and can be stored and shared digitally with family members so it never gets lost.
Through our team's decades of documentary filmmaking experiences, we have created an artful approach to tell the stories of our clients and deliver a new family heirloom that will be cherished for decades to come.
Our team of skilled & experienced documentarians is ready and excited to help you tell your family story.
Keep your place in history with a Bookmark film.
Who are Bookmark filmmakers?
Bookmark has compiled a roster of documentarians from around the country who have produced, shot & edited films for National Geographic, Discovery Channel, NBC, CBS, FOX, ESPN, & HBO. These professionals will take their talents producing for the big screen, and bring them to your & your family story.
What goes into making a Bookmark film?
We are making a documentary about every subject, so we will follow the traditional production cycle of any documentary. Pre Production, Production, Editing, and Delivery. Every step requires dozens of hours, talented crew, gear, and logistics to pull it together into a professional package.
Where are Bookmark filmmakers located?
We have filmmakers located around the USA, but we are open to travel & accommodating our clients around the world.
How can Bookmark be available to more people in more communities?
We will soon be providing “free-to-the-community” pop-up events in select cities as a way to offer high-quality, sit-down interview sessions to anyone with a family history to preserve. Your purchase of a Bookmark documentary will lead to the story preservation of community members around the country.
How big is the crew that will show up at my loved ones’ house to film?
We understand your loved one’s house and lifestyle wouldn’t be able to accommodate a large crew and complicated production logistics. We have scaled down every Bookmark in-person film crew to 2-3 people per project. We will have a producer & camera operator at every shoot, and sometimes we will add a production assistant if we deem it appropriate.
